MCHD — Clinic Services available today at Marquette County Health Department are: HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing, Family Planning, Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening, STD, and Health Services from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m. A WIC Clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Rock Hoppers Hiking Club for Book Lovers — 10 a.m.-noon. Meet at the Ridge Street lawn outside Peter White Public Library. Grades 6 to 9 are invited to join. Walk to Pebble Beach, have a snack, and talk about books. Round trip hike totals 3 miles. Hikers should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring their own water. Raptor story time — Negaunee Public Library hosts a story time with the Chocolay Raptor Center at 11:30 a.m. This event will feature live birds. It is open to the public and free to attend.

Elba Morse — The Elba Morse nurses group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Jeffrey’s Restaurant in Marquette.

B>Summer Reading — Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library, Poetry and Music featuring Marty Achatz, Linda Smith and Seamus Collins: 5:30 p.m.: Libraries rock and Carnegie’s friends Marty, Linda and Seamus prove it. U.P. Poet Laureate Marty Achatz will read poems and local musicians Linda Smith and Seamus Collins provide stellar accompanying performances. Superior Adventures — Lake Superior Theatre is hosting Superior Adventures, 7:30 p.m., ticket information available at the Lake Superior Theatre’s website, lakesuperiortheatre.com. This date, Jack Deo returns with Deer Camps to Grand Camps, which will feature a slideshow by the photo historian sharing some of the greatest and funniest photos from his 40-year collection of regional classic deer camps. The latter part of the show will highlight the “Grand Camps” of Marquette County, including Cyrus McCormick’s White Deer Lake, cabins at the Huron Mountain Club and color photos of Granot Loma Lodge never before shown.
