Garden club holds spring potluck

MARQUETTE — The Chocolay Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. April 11 for a spring potluck at the Chocolay Township Hall.

Bill Van Kosky will be the guest speaker.

The club began more than 15 years ago with a notice in the Prince of Peace Church bulletin asking for volunteers to help with the church grounds. It has evolved into a group of people who share a love of gardening.

The club continues to meet at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday at the Chocolay Township Hall. The agenda varies depending on time of year, with speakers presenting information on various aspects of gardening.

Other meetings take place in member gardens with the owner providing details about their plants and gardening practices.

Each meeting includes snacks, a chance to exchange gardening tips and time to visit with and learn from other members who are present.

Everyone is invited to attend. For more information, call Gloria at 906-869-2733.
