Bay College added to MCCJC network

ESCANABA — Bay de Noc Community College has been added to the Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium, powered by College Central Network. It is a free service that allows Michigan employers to seek employees who are students and alumni of community colleges.

It can be accessed at CollegeCentral.com/miccjobs. The service “makes it both free and easy for all employers’ large and small, public and private to register just once and then post an unlimited number of jobs to Michigan’s community college students and alumni,” organizers said in a news release. “This is an extraordinarily useful resource for employers hiring in today’s climate, whether students are attending classes virtually or in person.”

Employers posting jobs can simultaneously reach tens of thousands of job seekers all across the state such as Delta College, Grand Rapids Community College, Jackson College, Kellogg Community College, Lake Michigan College, Monroe County Community College, Mott Community College, North Central Michigan College, Oakland Community College, Schoolcraft College, Wayne County Community College District, and now, Bay College.

“With a wide range of career paths, two campuses located in Escanaba and Iron Mountain, and clinical sites throughout the Upper Peninsula and beyond, Bay College has the talent Michigan needs to keep its economy growing and vibrant,” Justin Izzard, director of IT at Bay College, said in the release. “Without question, the Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium makes it easy for employers across Michigan to extend their recruiting into the Upper Peninsula. In turn, Bay’s students and alumni gain access to job opportunities from employers specifically seeking in-state talent. Our students are skilled, job-ready, and eager to move straight into Michigan’s workforce. The bottom line: everyone benefits.”

Joy Miller, CCN’s Career Services Central National sales manager, explained the function of the service.

“Employers need to target job postings. With the Consortium, not only can employers register once to post jobs for free, but each day our Job Agent also matches and emails jobs to Michigan”s community college job seekers, based upon their profiles,” she said in the release. “This streamlines the hiring process! Furthermore, with one posting, employers can go statewide or target a specific combination of regional Michigan community colleges.

“Community colleges can have a great impact on the state’s economy. The Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium website allows employers to easily recruit home-grown entry-level talent by removing as many barriers as possible, simplifying the hiring process. This is especially critical given employers’ ongoing needs for highly qualified candidates.”

Founded in 1997, College Central Network has over 24 years of experience. More than two million employers have registered to utilize the network to post jobs and recruit students and alumni for entry-level jobs.

CollegeCentral.com is free for any student enrolled at a U.S. college; alumnus/a of a U.S. college; community resident taking classes at a U.S. college; or student attending one of our partner high schools. To learn more, visit CollegeCentral.com.
