All about TOWN

With Mary Jayne

I had noticed the other day on my rounds about town that the Michigan Works truck was in town and obviously trying to recruit workers or show what is available. There have appeared to be a lot of jobs this past summer with all the tourism. (Photo courtesy of Mary Jayne Hallifax)
While riding through one of the tourist parks in the area, I am always amazed at all the stuff has to be brought from home for these adventures and can only imagine all this to have to be put away back home when the season ends. All the kitchen stuff (we all have to eat), bicycles, strollers, leashes for the dogs, etc. Lots of work. However we have had the weather for it this year. With this recent weather we have been experiencing, it has not been out of character at all to have become a beach bum when my daughter and I spend time out at Sand Point which is only 4 miles from home. Often, it is very hard to find a parking space during the early hours later in the afternoon works well with us. And so often, we look forward to see what kind of a structure will someone have put up on one of the many sand bars which have made it so interesting this year. And as creative as they are (as seen here), they seem to be cleared off and something different appears a day later. It has definitely been a beach year with this recent heat.
