Two more virus cases in Dickinson County

IRON MOUNTAIN — Local data Friday showed two more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County this week while both it and Iron County reclassified six residents as recovered from the virus.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department’s Facebook post Friday morning also had a single new probable case in Dickinson County since its last report Monday.

The DIDHD had Dickinson County at 2,415 confirmed positives and 342 probable cases, with 2,639 recovered, 72 deaths and 46 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 987 confirmed cases and 71 probables, with 987 recovered, 49 deaths and 22 active cases.

The DIDHD announced Friday it will cut back to only one COVID-19 update per week as the pace of new coronavirus activity in the region continues to slow.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Friday listed only three new confirmed virus cases in the Upper Peninsula: one each in Mackinac, Baraga and Gogebic counties. The state also lowered both Delta and Menominee counties’ confirmed positive counts by one.

Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Friday has had 20,043 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 438 deaths.
