MDOT works on US 2 by Manistique
MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation has begun work on U.S. 2 near Manistique.
MDOT is investing $670,000 to mill and resurface 3 miles of U.S. 2 from the Manistique River Bridge to Tannery Road. The project is covered by a three-year pavement warranty, according to an MDOT news release. One lane will be open in alternating directions under flag control. An 11-foot width restriction will also be in effect in the work zone.
This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway, MDOT said. The estimated completion date is Sept. 4.
