Wisdom found in motivational quotes

Wisdom found in motivational quotes

Dr. Jim Surrell, Journal columnist

I believe it is very important for all of us to recall who is ultimately responsible for our personal motivation.

Of course, the answer is that I am the one personally responsible to motivate myself! Let us now take a look at the definition of motivation. Motivation is generally defined as: “The act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something, such as being eager to take some personal action or to work on something.” Various quotes may inspire us and then also lead to personal motivation.

Like many people, I am often motivated by what I believe to be some true wisdom that I learn from a quote that I may have just read or heard. As I think about and reflect on that quote, I often find myself motivated to take some positive actions in my life.

A profound quote may inspire me to get going on something I have wanted to do for some time, or to get back to finish a project that I have kept putting on my “back burner” for way too long. A truly motivational quote may also inspire us to take some positive actions with regard to our personal dreams and goals.

Further, a motivational quote may have a positive impact on our personal interactions with family, friends, and others. I sincerely hope you enjoy and are also somewhat motivated by the wisdom in the following quotes.
