On Aug. 18, the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second glow-in-the-dark, par-3 tournament, Cosmic Glow Golf. This event will be taking place at the Wawonowin Country Club, located in Champion. The shotgun start will begin at 6 p.m. sharp with registration and a picnic-style buffet beginning at 5 p.m. Once our participants are done with their first nine holes on the course, they will come into the club house for an upscale bar-b-que, music and a briefing from our GlowVibe staff (the company contracted to assist creating the glow-in-the-dark experience). After 9 p.m., the course will light up with neon lights and everyone will have a golf ball that glows-in-the-dark! Finally, at 11 p.m., there will be awards, prizes and an ice cream sundae bar waiting for all participants. Convinced yet?

If you are not eager to pick up a club and play a full 18-hole course, GINCC decided to add a family friendly event to Cosmic Glow Golf — Cosmic Mini Golf! Cosmic Mini Golf will take place on the same day, Aug. 18 and it will begin at 3 p.m. and go until 11 p.m. The mini golf course will be illuminated once the sun goes down. We encourage families to show up for a small fee to play.

Cosmic Glow Golf and Cosmic Mini Golf are a part of GINCC’s large fundraising events throughout the year. Funds raised from these summer events will go back toward our chamber members — providing resources for professional development and much more.
