Keweenaw Young Professionals to discuss digital burnout

HANCOCK — Keweenaw Young Professionals is hosting Part 3 of their Professional “Disconnecting with Technology: The Mystery of Digital Burnout Solved.”

Presented by Jeremiah Baumann, this event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Jutila Center, room 323, in Hancock.

People tend to blame technology for keeping them too “plugged in.” Attendees will learn how to identify their “connected touch-points;” understand how technology can be utilized to help disconnect; and walk away feeling more in control of their digital connection

Baumann works as the manager of digital media and creative services for Michigan Technological University, where he runs Creative Suite 155, a student-employed internal marketing department. With his master’s in integrated marketing communications, Baumann enjoys teaching at multiple college campuses, is a certified Google Educator, Certified Adobe Expert, Adobe Campus Leader and Adobe Education Trainer.

He uses his technical communications background to help train and educate on different technology, marketing and media practices through his business JBaumann Consulting LLC. He is also the Vice-chair of the National Technology Knowledge Community for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators).

The Keweenaw Young Professionals is a non-profit group for young professionals to be social, network, get involved in the community. The group aims to provide opportunities for professionals to connect and grow through community engagement.
