Redmen hammer Negaunee icers
NEGAUNEE – Scoring six goals in the first period, the Marquette Senior High School hockey team went on to post a 12-0 mercy-rule victory at Negaunee on Tuesday night.
Jacob Patterson led the way with three goals and three assists for the Redmen (18-6) in a game limited to two periods.
Donny Schultz and Jake Phillips each added a pair of goals and an assist.
“We played well,” MSHS head coach Doug Garrow said. “Once we got a couple of goals, the floodgates opened.”
Picking up single tallies were Tanner Carriere, Kristian Jackson, Justin Moyle, Luke Beerman and Tony Fedrizzi.
Marquette goaltender Dylan Sibilsky made three saves, while Negaunee’s Nolan Corwin and Anthony Hammermaster combined for 24 stops.
