USA Luge names Cookman to US Natural Track Luge Team
MARQUETTE — USA Luge has announced that Torrey Cookman of Marquette, and Henry Anderson of Appleton, Wisconsin, have been selected as members of the United States Natural Track Luge Team.
Cookman and Anderson will represent the U.S. in World Championship and World Cup races throughout Europe in December, January and February.
“Cookman, who is a member of the 2018 U.S. team, and Anderson were selected based on their excellent sliding ability and dedication to the sport,” said United States Natural Track Luge Team Coach Keith Whitman of Escanaba in a press release.
The team is scheduled to depart on Christmas Day for Vienna, Austria. The United States team will train and compete in Italy, Austria and Germany before returning to the United States.
On Jan. 27 the team will depart for Munich, Germany where they are scheduled to train and compete in Romania, Italy, Austria and Germany before returning in mid-February.
Trip details are currently being finalized between the athletes, coaching staff and the International Luge Federation.
