Ultra in marathons held Friday, Saturday

The 10th annual Marquette Trails 50 Ultramarathon was held Friday and Saturday. In the 50-mile race, Scott Kentner of Wetmore won the men’s title in 9 hours, 13 minutes and 29.8 seconds, while Kelly Tyrrell of Madison, Wisconsin came across first for the women in 10:25:26.1. Locally, Abby Potts of Marquette was 50-mile women’s runner-up in 10:41:44.6. Top 5K finishers Friday were Jorgen Chapin of Marquette and Kristen Monahan of Houghton.
