Carney-Nadeau hosts youth basketball tourneys

CARNEY — Carney-Nadeau High School will host a pair of youth basketball tournaments on Saturdays over the next month.

Each event is open to youths in grades 3 to 12 with boys’ and girls’ divisions that include two grades each — 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. Proceeds from the tourneys help the Carney-Nadeau Schools’ basketball programs.

Every game will be officiated in these single-day tourneys with rules available upon request and posted the day of the tournament.

T-shirts and medals will be awarded to first-place teams and medals given out to runner-up and third-place squads also.

Entry deadlines are a week before each tournament and captains will be called the Thursday prior to the event with the team’s time for its first game.

The 3-on-3 tourney will be held April 28 and costs $60 per team. Four players are allowed on each roster. This event will also have an associated free throw contest for elementary-age divisions, and 3-point contests for junior high and high school divisions, both boys and girls.

The 4-on-4 event will be held May 12 and costs $70 per squad. Five players can be placed on a roster.
