NMU women’s race starts earlier today

EVANSVILLE, Indiana — The possibility of threatening weather has prompted organizers to move up the start of the NCAA Division II Championships races in cross country this morning.

Northern Michigan University will participate in the women’s race originally scheduled for late morning that will now start at 9:30 a.m. EST, with awards scheduled to be presented after the men’s race that begins at 10:30 a.m. EST.

The course at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Indiana, will open for practice today at 7:30 a.m. EST and to the public at 8:30 a.m. EST.

Lions DE Ansah won’t play Sunday

ALLEN PARK (AP) — The Detroit Lions have ruled out defensive end Ezekiel Ansah against the Chicago Bears because of a back injury.

Detroit determined Ansah and running back Dwayne Washington would be inactive at Chicago after they didn’t practice for a third straight day. Ansah also missed the previous game, a win over Cleveland. Washington is out with a hip injury.

Offensive guard T.J. Lang is expected to play after missing the Browns game with a concussion.
