Steve Swentik, Dave Gadomski win title at Sweetgrass Golf Club
HARRIS — Several area golfers earned honors at a two-man senior men’s scramble held at the Sweetgrass Golf Club on Monday.
Topping the list was Steve Swentik and Dave Gadomski of Ishpeming, who won a tiebreaker for first place in the championship flight of the age 65-and-over division. They were one of four duos to shoot 74 but were named the medalists, according to a report from the Escanaba Daily Press.
Bob Christian and Ray Nummela of Ishpeming were another of the 74 shooters, but fell to fourth place on the tiebreaker in that flight.
Also in the 65-over division, Jim Tennyson and Bob Males of Indian Lake in Manistique were fifth in the championship flight with 75, while Dale Meese and Roger Contois of Marquette won the first flight with 80 and Marshall Bradley and Russ Paquette of Manistique took the second flight with 84.
In the 50-64-year-old division, George Trujillo and Geoff Weston of Marquette shot 68 to finish in fourth place in the championship flight, while Dave Koskey and Rich Koskey of Marquette carded 74 to win the first flight and Randy Paris and Gary Rautio of Red Fox Run at K.I. Sawyer shot 78 to take the second flight.
