Mutineers pick up two victories over weekend
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Mutineers came away with two Great Lakes Hockey League victories over the weekend at Lakeview Arena.
Starting out with a convincing 10-3 win over the Blues of Monroe, Wisconsin, Friday night, the Mutineers eked out a 4-3 victory over the Fond du Lac Bears on Saturday.
Leading the way both nights for the Marquette squad was Dallas McLaughlin, who scored four goals in each contest and upped his league-leading total to 48 goals in 24 games.
Also scoring for the Mutineers in Friday’s game were Joey Enright and Ryan Sullivan with two goals apiece and Brian Smaby and Craig Hartz, each with a single tally.
On Saturday night, McLaughlin scored the first goal of the game against Fond du Lac just over three minutes into the game, then broke a 3-3 tie with his fourth goal of the game with 7:11 remaining in the third period.
The Mutineers finish off the regular season with a two-game series at home Friday and Saturday. Both games start at 8 p.m. at the Berry Events Center.
