Marquette Tri-Media Pee Wees remain undefeated

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Under-12 Tri-Media Pee Wee AA travel hockey team won a pair of games last weekend at the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Junior Greyhounds AAA Minor team to improve to 24-0-3 this season. Scores from the games weren’t available.

In Game 1, Drew Dellies scored a pair of goals and Ethan Phillips and Jake Garrow each netted one, while Liam Beerman made 14 saves in the Tri-Media net.

In Game 2, Theo Adams scored twice for Marquette while Dellies and Jack Sides each had one. Beerman made 16 saves.

This weekend, the Tri-Media team was set to take part in the Tundra Tussel Tournament in Green Bay, Wis.

On Dec. 2-3, Marquette had a busy four-game home-and-home weekend and went 3-0-1 against the Calumet Junior Kings.

On Saturday at home, Marquette won twice, 4-2 and 5-1.

In Game 1, Phillips, Garrow, Sides and Cole Ranta scored goals for Tri-Media as Dellies and Dylan King both collected a pair of assists and Beerman made 18 saves.

In Game 2, Caden Bouws netted two goals and two assists for Marquette as Phillips, Sides and Garrow added one goal apiece. Beerman made 17 saves.

In Calumet on Sunday, the teams tied 2-2 before Marquette prevailed 3-2.

In Game 1, Phillips scored both Marquette goal and Beerman made 20 saves as Calumet scored late to forge the tie.

In Game 2, Phillips scored two goals and Sides had one while Beerman made 21 saves.

These wins wrapped up the Northern International Hockey League championship.
