Businesses, fans invited to NMU tailgate
MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University will help create the fan tailgate experience outside the Superior Dome for each of the Wildcats’ six home football games this season.
Starting with Saturday’s 1 p.m. game against Texas-Permian Basin, local artists will perform and staff from the NMU Department of Athletics will help local restaurants and food trucks set up outside the dome’s main entrance, the side facing Presque Isle Avenue.
The goal is to engage local businesses and fans with an exciting, friendly environment before the games.
Businesses, bands and DJs interested in participating can email Byron Synstegaard, the NMU Athletics Event Operations coordinator, at email@example.com or call him at 227-2855.
Other home games, all on Saturdays, are Sept. 15, 1 p.m. vs. Grand Valley State; Sept. 22, 4 p.m. vs. Ferris State; Oct. 6, 1 p.m. vs. Northwood; Oct. 20, 1 p.m. vs. Lawrence Tech; and Oct. 27, 1 p.m. vs. Michigan Tech.
