Packers, Lions exhibitions all on TV
MARQUETTE — The area’s two main rooting interests in the NFL will have their entire schedule of preseason games televised on local stations. The NFL Network will also pick up several of these games live.
With the first game already in the books on Thursday at home against Tennessee, all four Green Bay Packers’ exhibitions are being televised by Fox-U.P., Channel 11 on Charter Communications.
They include a home game against Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. Thursday, at Oakland at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, and at Kansas City at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30. The Oakland game will also be shown live on the NFL Network.
Tonight’s Lions exhibition at the Raiders, which starts at 10:30, and its three other preseason games will be televised by Escanaba CBS affiliate WJMN, which is Channel 3 on Charter systems. The game at Oakland will also be carried live on the NFL Network.
Others Lions’ exhibitions on WJMN are at the New York Giants at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, a CBS national game at Tampa Bay at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, and the final game at home against Cleveland at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, another game to be carried live on the NFL Network.
Both teams open the regular season in prime time, the Packers hosting Chicago at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, on NBC, while the Lions entertain the New York Jets at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, as the first half of ESPN’s Week 1 doubleheader.
