Cooper LaPlante 2nd for L’Anse track at West PAC meet

HANCOCK — Cooper LaPlante’s second place in the boys 800-meter run was the highest finish for L’Anse High School at the West PAC conference track and field meet held in Hancock on Wednesday.

The Purple Hornets scored 16 points in each meet to finish fifth of the five teams for both boys and girls.

In the girls meet, L’Anse had a trio of third-place finishes — Isabelle Martinez in the 100 and the Hornets in the the 400 and 800 relays, though names weren’t available for those quartets.

The L’Anse girls also got a fourth place from Martinez in the 400 and fifth places from Joana Huguet in the 200 and Alexa Stafford in the 800.

In the boys meet, Malecki Goyen was fourth in the 110 hurdles, while the Hornets were third in the 3,200 relay, fourth in the 800 and 1,600 relays and fifth in the 400 relay. Names weren’t available for those units.
