MARQUETTE — There was just the smallest amount of movement this week by area teams in the final weekly Upper Peninsula boys basketball polls voted on by select members of the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

Released this morning, this last poll only includes boys teams as they just wrapped up their regular season while girls teams played district tournaments last week.

Three area teams are ranked — Marquette (14-5) and Ishpeming (14-6) in Class A-B-C and Munising (17-3) in Class D.

Among those three, the only actual movement was by Marquette, which bumped up from third place into a tie for second with Gladstone in A-B-C.

Ishpeming remained fourth in A-B-C and Munising fifth in Class D.

Iron Mountain in A-B-C and Dollar Bay in D finished as unanimous No. 1 picks in their respective polls.

In the final Associated Press state polls also released this morning, 11 U.P. teams were ranked in the top 10 or received votes. Nine of those teams are in Class D with one each in B and C.

Munising is among the D squads as the Mustangs received one vote and are tied for 23rd along with North Central.
