Northern Michigan University’s Wildcat luncheon at noon Friday

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University will host its second Wildcat Community Luncheon of the school year from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the Ramada Inn of Marquette.

Founding Wildcats hockey coach Rick Comley will be the special guest on the eve of the dedication of the Rick Comley Rink at the school’s Berry Events Center. That ceremony is set to take place before the 7 p.m. Saturday start of NMU’s home game against Lake Superior State.

Other coaches expected to attend Friday’s luncheon are Northern head football coach Kyle Nystrom, head volleyball coach Mike Lozier and head Nordic ski coach Sten Fjeldheim.

The hockey team won’t be expected to have a representative there as it will be traveling Friday to Sault Ste. Marie for the first game of their home-and-home series against the Lakers.

Fans are invited to have lunch and hear the coaches speak. Cost is $15 per person and no reservations are necessary.
