Martin Eliasson leads Northern Michigan University men golfers

TIFFIN, Ohio — Junior Martin Eliasson finished tied for third to lead the Northern Michigan University men’s golf team to a 10th-place finish at the Kyle Ryman Memorial Tournament hosted by GLIAC member Tiffin University.

The two-day, three-round tourney wrapped up Sunday at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin with teams playing 36 holes Saturday before the final 18 holes on Sunday.

Eliasson finished with a 4-under-par 212 on rounds of 68, 77 and 67. He was alone in second place after his first round, dropped to 14th after two rounds and rebounded by tying for the best round on Sunday.

The Wildcats finished with 895 on rounds of 297, 306 and 292, tying McKendree University in the 21-team field.

Northern’s No. 2 finisher was junior Logan Haight, who tied for 37th with 225 on three rounds of 75. Next was junior Owen Beyer, tied for 69th with 72-81-79–232; then freshman Landon Elsner, tied for 78th with 83-75-75–233.
