Garrett Rudden, Luke Rambo lead Marquette runners at Pulaski Invite
PULASKI, Wisconsin — Garrett Rudden and Luke Rambo finished 1-2 to lead the Marquette Senior High School boys team to a fourth-place finish at the Pulaski, Wisconsin, Invitational cross country meet on Thursday.
In what MSHS coach Kyle Detmers described as a quality field of teams from larger Wisconsin schools, Rudden won the boys race in 16 minutes, 7.9 seconds, with Rambo on his heels in 16:11.1. Detmers described weather conditions as a cool and dry 69 degrees.
“I was very happy with our performance today,” he said about both his boys and girls teams as the Redmen scored 120 points. Green Bay Preble won with boys meet with 56, followed by Bay Port with 86 and Notre Dame Academy 99.
Also from Marquette, Garrett Zueger was 33rd in 17:41.7, Nathan Zika 38th in 17:55.8, Mathurin Gagnon 46th in 18:12.0, Moses Waite 57th in 18:35.56, Hogan Nemetz 60th in 18:39.6 and Drew Thomas 71st in 18:58.6.
Erica Asmus placed sixth in 19:28.7 to lead the Redettes to sixth place in the girls meet with 163 points. Notre Dame Academy won with 65.
Also for MSHS, Delaney Sall was 28th in 20:55.3, Reegen Ketzenberger 30th in 20:56.2, Sammy Borzick 42nd in 21:22.2, Guinn Wuorinen 57th in 22:00.3, Josie Danielkiewicz 61st in 22:11.4, Tauni Camilli 64th in 22:13.9 and Allison Jette 69th in 22:16.2.
