Northern Michigan University Wildcats’ men golfers 15th in Indiana

NOBLESVILLE, Indiana — The Northern Michigan University men’s golf team placed 15th at the Purgatory Regional, which was shortened to one round on Sunday due to weather.

The Wildcats posted a 307, which held as their final score after storms prevented many golfers from finishing Monday’s second round in an event hosted by the University of Indianapolis.

NMU’s Austin Elsner and Owen Beyer each shot 76 to tie for 40th, while teammate Martin Eliasson carded 77 to tie for 57th, Chris Black 78 to tie for 74th and Dustin Dishaw 81 to tie for 116th.

In a field of 29 schools and nearly 150 golfers, Grand Valley State won the team title with 285, followed by Saginaw Valley State with 291. SVSU’s Ryan Peruski won the individual title with 67.
