Marquette Tri-Media 12-under Pee Wee AA travel team improves to 19-0-2 with weekend sweep against Sault Ste. Marie

MARQUETTE — The Tri-Media 12-under Pee Wee AA travel team of Marquette improved to 19-0-2 this season after a pair of wins against the Sault Ste. Marie Junior Lakers.

In an opening 6-1 win, A.J. Bottari, Caden Bouws, Ethan Phillips, Jack Sides, Owen Riipi and Cole Ranta all scored a goal, while Liam Beerman picked up the goaltending win.

In the 7-3 victory in the nightcap, Bouws recorded a three-goal hat trick, Jake Garrow added two goals and Phillips and Sides had one apiece. Beerman again got the win in net.

On the weekend of Nov. 5-6, Tri-Media went 2-0-2 against the Portage Lake Flyers of Houghton in a home-and-home series.

The weekend started at Dee Stadium in Houghton with Marquette winning 6-2 and tying 2-2.

In the win, Sides scored three goals for a hat trick, while Bottari, Bouws and Phillips each had single tallies. Beerman made 30 saves in net.

In the tie, Sides and Brayden Grange scored while Beerman had 18 saves.

The following day, the teams traveled to Lakeview Arena in Marquette with Tri-Media opening again with a 6-2 win before settling for a 3-3 tie.

In Game 1, Sides scored twice while Phillips, Bouws, Ranta and Drew Dellies also scored. Beerman made 14 saves.

In the nightcap, Sides, Bottari and Bouws scored a goal apiece for Marquette as Beerman made 13 saves.

Next up for Tri-Media is another home-and-home four-game series against the Calumet Junior Kings on Saturday and Sunday.
