ISHPEMING, MI. - Deni Lynn Laitinen, age 40, of 406 Greenwood St., Ishpeming passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 in Ann Arbor, MI at the University of Michigan, Burn Trauma Center where she had been a patient for the past week.
Deni was born March 14, 1974 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Edwin and Enore (Keeble) Anderson. She grew up in Michigamme and was a graduate of the Republic-Michigamme High School.
Deni had worked at Family Dollar in Ishpeming, and Wells Fargo, and for the past three years at TruNorth Federal Credit Union as a teller. Deni enjoyed vegetable gardening along with sitting outside. Deni was an avid supporter of the Ishpeming Hematites Football Team and loved to be around her sons and their friends.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Roger J. Laitinen of Ishpeming; two sons Gage and Ethan Laitinen both of Ishpeming; 2 sisters Robyn (Lee) Rumpca of St. Paul, MN and Bobbie Roberts of Michigamme; 2 brothers Arn (Shannon) Anderson and James Anderson both of Republic; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law James Laitinen of Ishpeming, Carrie & Dennis LaForest of Humboldt Twp. and Maryann & Eric Swanke of Ely Twp.; special friends - Dawson and Darrin; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 until 6pm on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Bjork & Zhulkie funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6:00pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Bethel Lutheran Church in which friends are encouraged to drop off a cold salad or bars.
