MARQUETTE - Marquette teachers will hold a town hall meeting Wednesday inside the Ramada Inn in Marquette.
The event will begin at 7 p.m.
According to a press release issued by Toni Landick, chairwoman of the Marquette Area Education Association Crisis Committee, the public is invited to attend to learn what is happening with contract negotiations between the Marquette teachers and the Marquette Area Public Schools District.
Negotiations took place throughout the 2013-2014 school year with no success.
Unless an agreement is made in the next week or so, the teachers will enter the 2014-2015 school year still without a current contract.
"As they begin a second year of working without a contract, teacher representatives would like to help keep our community informed and working together for the benefit of Marquette area students and families," the press release states.
