MARQUETTE - Lieutenant Gov. candidate Lisa Brown is campaigning in four Upper Peninsula counties this weekend, including scheduled stops in the cities of Marquette and Munising.
Brown, a West Bloomfield Democrat, is gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer's running mate and she is a former state representative.
Brown's campaign swing begins today in Sault Ste. Marie with a meet and greet event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 224 Ashmun Street. There, Brown will discuss Schauer's jobs plan.
Saturday morning, Brown will be in Munising to meet and greet Alger County voters at Sydney's Restaurant, located along M-28. The session is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m.
From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Brown will again discuss Schauer's jobs plan with voters as she attends the Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba.
Sunday afternoon, Brown will be canvassing door to door in Marquette, meeting voters from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Brown will then attend a Michigan Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign Kick-Off at 5:30 p.m. with the official opening of the coordinated campaign's Marquette office, located at 1021 West Washington Street.
Brown will return to the Lower Peninsula Monday to continue campaigning downstate in Manistee County. She is scheduled to be in Manistee.
