MARQUETTE - Because of Frei Chevrolet and River Valley Bank's Kristen Derocha, a dream has come true for a local firefighter/chief Gerald Hebert.
After finding out that a Chevrolet Camaro is Hebert's dream car and out of his realm, the team at Frei and Derocha made it possible by giving Hebert a 2014 Camaro.
Hebert has been battling a terminal lung disease called asbestosis caused from his years as a firefighter. He has gone through extensive medical treatment which has been a strain financially for him and his family.

With the help of River Valley Bank, Frei Chevrolet gave Hebert a 2014 Chevy Camaro. Hebert has a terminal lung disease called asbestosis, caused by years of being a firefighter.
His wife Tammy said, "The community has been rallied around Jerry since his diagnosis helping in every way they can,and continue to help, they make us proud to be part in their generosity."
The keys to the 2014 Camaro were presented to him outside of the Ishpeming Township Firehall. Jim Grundstrom, owner of Frei Chevrolet, said, "These firefighters are our heros and we treat them like family, and I am proud to be a part of Jerry's wish."
The Heberts want to thank Frei Chevrolet, Jim and Andy Grundstrom, Brandee Korpi, Chris Spagnuolo and everyone who made this wish come true for Jerry. He remains, "Firefighter Strong" and will continue to battle the disease with knowing that "Nobody fights alone."
