BEAVER GROVE, MI. - Allan Arthur Fosco, age 59, of Beaver Grove, entered eternal life Wednesday morning, June 25, 2014, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.
Born September 4, 1954 in Marquette, a son of Emanuel and Karine (Koivula) Fosco, Al was raised in Marquette and attended Marquette Senior High School. A lifelong resident, he worked locally at various employments before beginning a 20 year career as a union laborer through Laborers International Union of North America Local 1329, most recently with We Energies. Al was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed four wheeling, mud drags, being with his friends, and especially time spent with his grandchildren and family. A true perfectionist, he was a skilled painter and carpenter, and loved building and remodeling.
Al is survived by his nine siblings, Sandra (Larry) Wise of Pennsylvania, Scott (Chris Johnson) Fosco of Marquette, Kathy (Bart) Olsen of Marquette, Judy (Larry) Barry of Ishpeming, Jesse (Karen) Fosco of Marquette, Larry (Sue) Fosco of Marquette, Sue (Rod) Hanson of Marquette, Mike (Carol) Fosco of Marquette, and John Fosco of Marquette; his daughters, Angel (Jeff) Pohlman of Ishpeming and Starlene Bartol of Marquette; son, Ken (Tonya) Bartol of Negaunee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special friend, John Sleeter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his companion, Brenda Bartol.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Leon Jarvis will preside. A reception will follow in the reception room located at the funeral home. Inurnment will be made at the Park Cemetery.
