Crash in Marquette causes rollover

June 24, 2014
Mining Journal

Pictured is the scene of a two-vehicle accident that took place at 5:25 p.m. Monday along U.S. 41 between Holiday Inn and Wendy's. Marquette Police said a southbound vehicle was in the turn lane headed toward the Wendy's parking lot when the driver didn't see an eastbound vehicle on the U.S. 41 bypass, and drove across the highway. That vehicle then was struck by the eastbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a Marquette man whose name was not released, was cited for failure to yield. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a Ferndale woman whose name also was not released, was taken to Marquette General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Assisting at the scene were the Marquette Police Department, the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, MGH EMS and the Marquette Fire Department. (Journal photo by Christie Bleck)
