MARQUETTE - Courtney Finkbeiner, and Scott Frazier and Brett Specker, have been named the Superiorland Kiwanis Club's female and co-male Athletes of the Month for May at Marquette Senior High School.
A junior at MSHS, Finkbeiner is captain of the varsity softball team.
She has been on the school's honor roll every semester and has a 3.5 GPA. She has also volunteered at community events through the Girl Scouts.

During her senior year, Finkbeiner plans to attend softball combines in the hope of playing collegiate softball, according to an MSHS release. She then may major in physical therapy or athletic training.
She's the daughter of Wendy and Bill Finkbeiner.
Frazier is a junior and a member of the golf team. He took medalist honors at the Escanaba Quad and the Great Northern Conference meet in Kingsford this season.
He was also runner-up at the Marquette Invitational at the Marquette Golf Club.
In addition to golf, Frazier played two seasons of hockey as a forward for the Redmen.
He has volunteered at the Marquette Marathon and for the Room at the Inn program.
His future plans include becoming a pilot and and-or a professional golfer.
He's the son of Kim and Kathy Frazier.
Specker is a junior and also a member of the MSHS golf team.
He placed second at the Escanaba Invitational, earned medalist honors at the Marquette Invitational and finished seventh at the MHSAA Division 1 Upper Peninsula Finals last month.
Specker is also a member of the Redmen varsity hockey team who has been on the honor roll all three years of high school with a 3.9 GPA.
Once he graduates, Specker plans to attend college in a pre-pharmacy program.
He's the son of Kim and PJ Specker.
