ISHPEMING- The Ishpeming City police department has release the names of the two people killed Thursday afternoon when their motorcycle collided with a Ryder rental truck in Ishpeming.
Killed were the driver of the motorcycle, Gary James Kappler, 64, of Ahmeek and his girlfriend, Diane Lovan Palosaari, 52, of Mohawk, a passenger on the motorcycle.
According to Ishpeming police, a preliminary investigation into the accident showed that Raymond Michael Anderson, 19, of Ishpeming, the driver of the 2011 Ryder truck, apparently turned into the path of Kappler's 2011 Harley Davidson, which police said had the right of way.

Kappler and Palosaari were pronounced dead at the scene. According to a press release, neither were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Anderson had minor injuries and sought his own treatment at Bell Hospital. The accident remains under investigation and when completed it will be reviewed by the Marquette County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges, police said.
