NEGAUNEE - With Ryan Syrjala at No. 2 singles and Ben Luke at No. 4 winning their matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores, the Negaunee High School boys tennis team dumped visiting Iron Mountain on Wednesday, 7-1.
Syrjala beat Luke Truscott and Luke blanked Nick Lusardi as the Miners of head coach Kyle Saari improved to 7-0-1 on the season.
"Ryan followed up a good weekend (at the Kingsford Invitational) with another win," Saari said.

Parker Bowman at No. 1 singles and Eric Hurst at No. 3 also won for NHS.
At No. 1 doubles, Iron Mountain's Danny Willman and Sawyer Kujula turned back Doug Lindblom and Michael Anderson, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
But the Miners' Stephen Trawick and Alex Roth at No. 2 doubles, Anthony Moyle and Rob Loy at No. 3, and Micah Johnson and Kolton Klein at No. 4, all won in straight sets to finish off the Mountaineers.

"We have a few doubles flights that have been real consistent and we're still working to get where we want to be at a few others," Saari said.
West Iron County 4
At Iron River Wednesday, Marquette Senior High School and West Iron County both won two singles and two doubles matches to finish with a 4-4 tie.
Josh Downs at No. 1 singles beat WIC's Ryan Rogers, 6-3, 6-0, while Marquette's Matt Collins at No. 2 also won.
In doubles, Noah Heichel and Joe Weber at No. 2, and Patrick Bulinski and Connor Laitinen at No. 3, beat WIC opponents.
"We were up (in the match), but it came down to No 4 doubles, where West Iron won to tie the match," Marquette head coach Charlie Drury said.
"West Iron is a pretty decent team and we got some wins I'm not sure we would. We had a lot of new guys in the lineup who gained some good experience."
He added he liked the way Heichel and Weber played Wednesday.
"They're continuing to improve every match," Drury said. "They played up a position and beat a strong No. 2 West Iron doubles team."
At Gwinn Wednesday, the Modeltowners posted a 6-2 decision over the visiting Norway Knights.
Micah Heath at No. 1 singles led the way, He defeated Mitchel Pichart in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Aidan Anderson at No. 2 singles, and Erik Flinn at No. 3 also won for coach Dan Turecky's Gwinn squad (2-2-3).
In doubles, Jesse Mottes and Nick Bjork at No. 1 knocked off Norway's Toni Horne and Jordan Mano, 6-0, 6-0.
Erik Asplund and Mason Bruce at No. 2 doubles, and Quintin Johnson and Kevin Roberts at No. 3, also posted victories for the Modeltowners.
Also at Gwinn, but on Tuesday, the Modeltowners forged a 4-4 tie with Ishpeming after taking a 6-2 triumph over the Hematites in the completion of a weather-delayed April 24 match.
In singles play in the regularly-scheduled contest Tuesday, Ishpeming won 3-of-4 matches, with Gwinn's only triumph a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 by Heath over Thomas Bleau.
At No. 1 doubles, Mottes and Bjork of Gwinn led a 3-1 Modeltowners' performance there with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Jordan Musser-John Penrose.
Ishpeming's only doubles win came at No. 4, where Lucas Solka and Dan Thorton toppled Johnson and Roberts, 6-1, 6-2.
In last month's suspended match completed Tuesday, Ishpeming's Bleau beat Inigo Cepeda 7-5, 5-4, forfeit at No. 1 singles.
In doubles, where Gwinn swept all four matches, Mottes and Bjork defeated Tony Gravedoni and Josh Penrose, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1.
