NMU track: Three Wildcats reach NCAA Division II Championships

MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan University's women's track and field team will have three members competing at the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 22-24 at Grand Valley State University in downstate Allendale.

NMU's Stewart, Toogood named all-region:

MARQUETTE - NMU senior Cheyenne Stewart and junior Christina Toogood were named to the Division II All-Region Team for the 2014 outdoor season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Stewart was named all-region in the long jump and triple jump, winning titles in each at the GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships en route to being named GLIAC Women's Field Athlete of The Year.

Toogood earned all-region honors in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs, winning the 1,500 title at the GLIAC Outdoor event with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4 minutes, 31.54 seconds.
