ESCANABA - Thursday was a good day to be an Eskymo as Escanaba swept to boys and girls titles at the Northern Michigan Bank Invitational held at the Escanaba Country Club.
EHS sophomore Nick Aird captured medalist honors for the boys shooting a career-low 75. The Esky Black team scored 322, finishing 16 strokes ahead of runner-up Marquette's 338.
"Nick had the type of score I expect and that he expects," Escanaba coach Brian Robinette said. "He's a thinker and a natural talent you can't coach. When it all comes together for him, these are the scores we'll see from him in matches to come and certainly his junior and senior year."
