MARQUETTE - Giving up 10 walks and making five errors, the Marquette Senior High School baseball team wound up losing to visiting Escanaba on Wednesday night, 10-4.
Though the Redmen picked up six walks themselves, they were only able to get one hit: a single by Jacob Olson.
"It was a sloppy game," Marquette coach Todd Koski said. "I need to do a better job preparing the team to play.
"We couldn't get the bats going and we were off balance all night.
"(We also) had too many mistakes to be a good team," he added.
The Eskymos scored four runs in the first inning and slowly pulled away, though MSHS made it 8-4 in the fifth with three runs.
