NMU ROTC cadets earn recognition

(1) Cadet Steven Abbott, center, of Northern Michigan University's Reserve Officer Training Corps, receives a certificate of commendation from Dewey Jones, left, commander of the Albert and James Lyon Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and Senior Cadet James Martindale, the first member of the Wildcat Battalion to receive the commendation. The commendation by the SUVCW is based on a high degree of patriotism and demonstrated academic performance and leadership. (2) Chef de Gare Michael Trickey of Voiture 599 of the The Society of the Forty and Eight of Marquette County presents Cadet Stephanie Roberts, a Junior in the nursing program at NMU, with a $500 merit scholarship.
