ISHPEMING, MI. - Charles "Chuck" F. DeLongchamp, age 83, of 826 N. Pine St. Ishpeming passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in the Emergency Room at Bell Hospital following a spell he had at home.
Charles was born August 10, 1930 the son of the late A. Roy and Marcella (Morin) DeLong- champ. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1947. Following graduation Chuck served in the United States Army. He returned to this area following his service time and worked as a Logging Contractor for Roy DeLongchamp & Sons for many years prior to his retirement.
Chuck was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a longtime member of the West Marquette Co. Pool League. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer season spent at "The Boar's Nest." Chuck will be remembered as a great problem solver, and one who could fix anything. He was also very crafty and loved making things out of wood or doing woodcarvings. He was a great conversationalist, and it was said that he never met a stranger.

Survivors include 3 children Kathy Collins, Steven Collins and Julia (Steve Hylkema) Collins all of Ypsilanti, grandchildren Colin and Samuel Wyzgoski, Anthony Collins and Patrick Livingston, a great grandchild Aubrey Wyzgoski, a sister-in-law Mary Kaye (Wade) Grady of Ishpeming, step-father-in-law Don Johnson of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn (Revello) DeLongchamp on March 20, 2014, his parents Roy and Marcella DeLongchamp and his step-mother Alice DeLongchamp, along with his brothers Roy and Paul DeLongchamp.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am 1:00pm on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Dan Moll to officiate. The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380, will accord military honors at the conclusion of the Mass. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee Twp.
