NEGAUNEE, MI. - Stella Rose Kniffin, 75, of East Lincoln St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 8:10 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Marquette General Hospital.
Stella was born April 6, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to Vincenzo and Alfonsina (Costillo) Auciello. She attended high school in New York and later moved to Wisconsin.
Stella studied law at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She moved to Negaunee 8 years ago after living in numerous places around the country. During her life she worked as a manager for 7/11 stores and as a meatpacker for Amalgamated Meats.
Stella loved her dogs and spending time target shooting. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to sew and knit.
Surviving are her daughter, Lori (David) Perry of Ishpeming; her son, Vincent Kniffin of Texas; and a sister, Yolanda Santos of Florida. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nathan Kniffin, in 2002; a son, William Kniffin, in 1995; and a brother, Gennara Auciello.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 16 at Koskey Funeral Home with Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30am until the time of services at 11:00am at the funeral home on Wednesday.
