Sault Ste. Marie High School defeats Gwinn High School in High School Bowl

Sault Ste. Marie High School defeated Gwinn High School in the quarterfinals of High School Bowl by a score of 290-150. Representing Gwinn, seated from left, are players Chris Stankowski, Michael Willig, team captain Ben Lauren and Aidan Anderson. Standing are alternates Brooke Luokkala and Erik Flinn with coach Shaun Clark. Players for Sault Ste. Marie are, seated from left, Daniel Frechette, team captain Kyle Flickinger, Trevor Miller and Henry Shackleton. Standing is coach Paul Pioszak. High School Bowl host G.G. Gordon is standing at lower left. Major production funding for High School Bowl is provided by The Sam and Elinor Benedict Fund and The Ray and Peg Hirvonen Foundation. Production funding is also provided by 20 Upper Peninsula Credit Unions. High School Bowl is a production of Public TV 13 in partnership with the regional educational service agencies and intermediate school districts of the Upper Peninsula. Running from November through the championship game in April, the High School Bowl series airs on Public TV 13 at 8 p.m. Saturdays and noon Mondays.
