Coalition donates to NMU society

The Marquette County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition recently presented a $500 mini-grant to the Northern Michigan University Health Promotion Society. At the presentation were, from left, Marianne Annala, Haley Mahr, Heidi Schneiderhan, Alexandra Kerlin and Karin Schultz The Health Promotion Society, along with five other NMU students groups, worked to raise funds to bring Patrick Reynolds to Marquette. Reynolds, grandson of the founder of RJ Reynolds tobacco company, established The Foundation for a Smoke-free America, is slated to speak at NMU campus at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Reynolds is also scheduled to in the Gwinn High School gym at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
