To the Journal editor:
If this winter's extreme cold hasn't caused enough problems for Negaunee, with spring approaching, another potential problem is around the corner.
I would like to bring attention to the flooding issue on Maas Street in the Eastwood subdivision of the city.
For the better part of two decades, little to nothing has been done to solve the storm water runoff problem. The truth is, engineering studies have been done, letters have been written, residents have complained, new construction allowed; yet nothing done toward fixing the drainage problem.
Instead, residents are stuck dealing with the drudgery related to clean up and the expense of repairs after the flooding.
As a concerned citizen and subdivision resident, I again urge the city of Negaunee to resolve this long overdue problem once and for all.
Will you, the readers, help me by letting your views be known? Thank you.
