MARQUETTE, MI. - Howard H. Green, 102 of Marquette, MI, formerly of Daggett, MI, passed away on Thursday March 6, 2014 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, MI.
Howard was born on April 22, 1911 in Stephenson Township, MI to the late John and Pearl (Hall) Green. On September 5, 1936 Howard married the former Maycel Adams in Daggett, MI. Maycel preceded him in death on November 29, 2005.
Howard proudly served his Country in the United States Army during World War II. Howard worked in road construction and later as a truck driver for the Menominee County Road Commission retiring on April 13, 1976.

Howard was a well known baseball player and coach for the Daggett Wishigan League team. A gifted athlete, Howard enjoyed baseball, golf, bowling, and in his younger years, boxing. He further enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Above all else, spending time with his children and grandchildren is what Howard enjoyed most.
Survivors include his 3 sons: Mahlon (Jean) of Hartford, WI, Terry (Sharon) of Marquette, MI and Larry (Sharon) of Monroe, WI; 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; and 1 sister: Katherine Foster of Escanaba, MI.
Howard was preceded in death by one son: John David; 2 grandsons: Anthony and Michael; great granddaughter: Makayla Lee; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Family and friends may call at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, MI on Sunday March 9, 2014 from 12:00 noon CST until time of Military Rites at 1:00 pm CST followed by Funeral Service. Pastor Jim Mathews officiating.
Burial will be in Nadeau Township Cemetery in the spring.
