Sled Night backs flight, Sawyer fund

A Sled Night held recently at the Throttle in Gwinn, sponsored by Joe and Sue Boogren of Boogren MiTECH Consulting of Gwinn and Sally and Scott Searle, raised more than $1,700 for the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight to send World War II and Korean War veterans to see their memorials in Washington, D.C., free of charge. Shown at the check presentation are: in front, Karen Hares; middle row, Pat Makela, Sue Beranek, Paula Waeghe and Sally Searle; and back row, Paul Makela, Deb Bedogne, Barb Van Rooy, Sue Boogren and Scott Searle. In addition, a Sled Night in January raised $1,250 for the K.I. Sawyer Community Fund.
