Police investigate school bus crash

NEGAUNEE - Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Township post are investigating a mid-afternoon vehicle crash Thursday that involved a school bus.

According to a spokesman from Central Dispatch, a Negaunee Public Schools bus carrying about 20 children was struck by a white sedan at about 3:10 p.m.

The school bus was northbound on North Road at the time of the crash, which took place about 3/4s of a mile north of the Carp River Bridge near Kivela Road. Details of the crash were not immediately available.

The driver of the sedan was transported by ambulance to Bell Hospital with undetermined injuries, the dispatch spokesman said. No children were apparently injured.
