NMU Nordic skiing: Bratrud wins classic title at NCAA Regional

HOUGHTON - Northern Michigan University's women's Nordic ski team won the classic race at the NCAA Regional Championships held in Houghton Saturday.

Led by senior Rosie Frankowski, the Wildcat women totaled 63 points.

Frankowski placed second with a time of 17:30. NMU sophomore Hannah Boyer was right behind in third (17:45.3), while junior Felicia Geisor (seventh) and sophomore May Kate Cirelli (ninth) finished in the top 10 for NMU.

In the men's race, NMU finished second with 63 points.

Wildcat junior Kyle Bratrud claimed the men's classic race, finishing in 29:53.8.

Northern senior George Cartwright (30:44), freshmen Adam Martin (30:45.5) and Fredrik Schwencke (30:46.4) finished sixth- through-eighth, respectively.
