MARQUETTE - Several streets will be closed to through traffic at the following times for the annual U.P. 200 and Midnight Run Dog Sled Races set for Friday and the Downtown Showdown snowboard and ski competition scheduled for Saturday.
Washington Street from Front Street to Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed from 10:30 p.m. today to 1 p.m. Sunday.
On Friday, street closures and their times of closure are: Washington Front to Fifth Street, 7 a.m.; Fourth Street from Spring Street to Bluff Street, 9 a.m.; Lakeshore from Mattson Park to Baraga Avenue, 1 p.m.; Lakeshore from Baraga to U.S. 41, 5 p.m.; the northbound lane of South Lake Street from U.S. 41 to Hampton Street, 5 to 10:30 p.m.; Front from Baraga to Bluff, 5:15 p.m.; and Third Street from Spring to Bluff, 5:45 p.m.

The Front detour route for the Friday street closures will be via Front, Baraga, Fifth, Bluff and Front.
The closures will be in effect through 2 a.m. Saturday.
From 1 p.m. Friday to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Lakeshore from Mattson Park to Spring Street will be closed. From 5 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, closures will take place on Front from Main Street to Washington and Main from Front to Lakeshore. Traffic will be detoured via Baraga, Third and Washington for the Saturday closure on Front.
Pedestrian access will be allowed all days throughout the street closure areas.
