MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan University head women's soccer coach Matt Granstrand has signed five student-athletes from Michigan to National Letters of Intent.

Abigail Cook, a 6-0 center midfielder from DeWitt; Madison Hamilla, a 5-5 forward from Gaylord; Maria Kiilunen, a 5-8 forward/offensive midfielder from Brighton; Allyssa Milam, a 5-7 center back from Williamston; and Lindsey Tuggle, a 5-6 outside back, also from Williamston are all slated to join the program in the fall.

Cook played for the TNT Dynamite club team, which was a State Cup semifinalist in 2011 and 2013; Hamilla was named All-Conference and All-District; Kiilunen has a sister, Helen, currently playing soccer at NMU; Milam was named All-Conference, All-League, All-District, All-Region and honorable mention All-State; and Tuggle also played for the TNT Dynamite

"They all excel in academics, as well as being quality athletes. Most importantly, they're the kind of people you want on your team," Granstrand said.

"I feel the addition of all the incoming players, combined with a talented and driven returning squad, will lead to good things for our program."
